DJ IAN WILSON

Experienced Professional Wedding DJ - Ian Wilson has played at many of the venues throughout Auckland. He is familiar with various venue set up and sound restrictions if any are in place and he has DJ'd at hundreds of successful weddings. ?- Specialising in weddings has given Ian the ability to fine tune his service to wedding clients to meet their needs and wants. Providing excellent equipment, and music planners are just some of the areas needing a specialist approach when planning a wedding. For a modern contemporary soundsetup you can't beat the look and sound of Bose. Included in the Premier Wedding Package Bose L1 sound system Professional Sound System - Bose L1 model 1 and the Bose L1 Compact for your ceremony. The Bose L1 systems offer the best in audio technology and are regarded by many wedding professionals and sound engineers as exceptional. The Bose L1 incorporates it's unique speaker array system to produce an even spread of sound and avoids hot spots of sound produced by conventional speaker systems. -

Microphones allow your guests to connect to what is being said. The premier wedding package includes the highest quality microphones so this can happen without interference or interruption. EXPERIENCED WEDDING DJ

When it comes to your wedding there are many DJ's that are good at what they do but may have no idea when it comes to a wedding what is required. As an experienced wedding DJ who has entertained at hundreds of successful weddings Ian will be able to guide through the day and offer suggestions where needed.

MUSIC

Customizing and personalizing the music for your wedding. Ian's extensive music library covers thousands of songs and several decades. The library is constantly being updated to keep current with the latest popular music. For music not in the library the Premier wedding package allows up to $30 to purchase new music for your event. Not sure what music will be appropriate when or where. Ian will sit down with you and help customize your wedding music. He will outline the important parts of the day that music will enhance. He will send out lists of popular music including popular music for those parts of the day from your walk down the aisle to the throwing of the bouquet. Music selected can also be edited if needed. In the past Ian has extended intros to songs, removed words or shortened songs to fit with clients requests. Ian's music planner will help you get the music you and your guests want to hear for the day. Ian will also discuss your do not play list and your conditions for guests requests. Having over 20 years experience in DJ'ing and weddings. Ian is very informed when it comes to reading the crowd and playing the appropriate music at the right time.

OPTIONAL EXTRAS

A selection of optional extras can be added to your premier wedding package. A small charge is applicable. Some conditions apply.

MASTER OF CEREMONIES

Can be added to your Premier Wedding Package for a small charge. Announcements and introductions can be taken care of along with the smooth flow of the day keeping you and your guests informed about what and when events will be happening. Ian will sit down with you and go through his MC planner and check list to facilitate the smooth flow of the day. Ian will also discuss with you the timing of events. Ian has been an MC many times and will will work you or with your chosen master of ceremonies to achieve the best result.

Five Entertainment Tips

Get involved in the music

Let your DJ know what sort of music you want. Music planner, music lists and discussing ideas with your DJ are a good place to start when it comes to organizing the music for your wedding. Your discussions should include the timing of events, special genres or songs to be played, any special edits that are needed, and of course don't forget the do not play list, ie. Bird dance etc ? If your DJ says they understand the music you want without discussing it first with you, then you know that the DJ is not that really interested in your wedding and will be rolling out a standard playlist. The mix of music generally depends on age group but there are so many variables. To avoid disappointment discuss and have in writing your music preferences.

Do something fun

If you're thinking entertainment then you have to ask what is entertaining. Dancing is fun but 3-4 hours of it without stopping can get a bit tiring physically.. You might want to look at ways to break up that time with something entertaining for your guests. For example if your doing a bouquet throw and a garter toss, what about getting the DJ to get the winners up for a special dance together. At a recent wedding this was a memorable highlight. There are many fun ideas like this that can be incorporated.. The key factors are fun people, activities appropriate to guests, and timing.

Allow your guests to connect emotionally

From your vows for your ceremony to your speeches at the reception, make sure people can hear what is being said. For your guests to understand what is being said and to feel that they are apart of what is happening you will usually need microphones, wireless preferably, and a system of amplification. Quality sound equipment makes a huge difference. A cheap karaoke microphone will make anyone sound terrible. Allowing your guests to understand what is happening means also keeping them informed, so a good communicator is required to act as MC for the event. Not every announcement needs to be made over the PA system, informing smaller groups of guests to take a seat sometimes works better. A good MC will keep things flowing smoothly and avoid awkward pauses and silences. Many emotions, laughs and sometimes tears are shared during these spoken moments so they should be audible. Why not think about asking your DJ/Videographer to possibly record them for you?

Do something romantic on the dance floor

Throughout the wedding day there are many romantic moments, but what about doing something on the dance floor. The first dance is a very special moment and if you are game then you can learn some simple dance moves that look very impressive. If the dance routine only lasts a short time then you could ask the DJ to edit the song for a shorter version or ask the DJ to introduce the bridal party at the point when the dance routine comes to an end. But it doesn't have to end at the first dance. At one wedding I was a DJ for, about halfway through the night we organized the bride to sit on a chair on the dance floor. Unknown to her the groom and groomsmen with a wireless microphone sang `You've lost that loving feeling ' - by the Righteous Brothers. A small amount of effort usually pays off. If it is a surprise just make sure all details are known to the DJ, communication is key.

Do something different

Many brides and grooms want to have an elegant memorable wedding and certain etiquette and format is adhered to... it's what people expect. But at the same time you probably want it to be different from your friends or sister's wedding. From the music you walk down the aisle, to your last dance you can add your personal touch. But what about doing something very different. A special dance when you enter the reception, or two songs for the first dance a slow romantic one and a fun one mixed in. These all have been done as seen on you-tube. But if you put your creative thinking caps on, you could be the first to start off a new trend and start people talking about your wedding as the most entertaining wedding they have ever been to. Key factors would be a good fit for your personality, and keeping it tasteful.
